This two-day annual festival features CCPA graduate students in voice with piano accompaniment. OperaFest takes place in multiple venues, including Ganz Hall, Roosevelt University’s award-winning architectural landmark, and the Murray-Green Library on the Auditorium Building’s 10th floor, overlooking Buckingham Fountain and Lake Michigan. The performance schedule for both Saturday, October 28 and Sunday, October 29 is as follows:
1 p.m. Murray-Green Library (10th floor)
- Claudio Monteverdi: Orfeo: Prologue
- Monteverdi: The Return of Ulysses: Prologue
- Monteverdi: The Coronation of Poppaea: Sweet Love’s Beginning
- Daron Hagen: New York Stories #1: Broken Pieces
- Felix Mendelssohn: Loreley, Act I Finale
3 p.m. Ganz Hall (7th floor)
- Sean Hussey (MM ’18): …for the sake of a narrative closure (world premiere - OperaLab Composition Competition Winner)
- Divafest: Arias performed by members of the Professional Diploma in Opera Program
4:30 p.m. Murray-Green Library (10th floor)
- Felix Mendelssohn: Homecoming
These performances are free and open to the public. Tickets are not required; seating is on a first-come, first served basis.
