Emelia Clark, originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, is currently based in Chicago, IL.  Ms. Clark recently graduated with a Masters in Music from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University (CCPA).  While there she performed the the title role in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen as well as Leonore in Mendelssohn’s unfinished opera Loreley.

This past summer she was seen with Chicago Vocal Art’s Consortium as Arminda in their production of La finta giardiniera (Mozart) and with Chicago Summer Opera as Armida in Rinaldo (Handel). Other roles and scene work include Laetitia (The Old Maid and the Thief) and Yvette (La Rondine) with Boston Conservatory, Alcina (Alcina) and Adina (L’elisir d’amore) with the International Performing Arts Institute, and Elena (Paride ed Elena) with CCPA.  Ms. Clark has also been featured as the soprano soloist in Rutter’s Requiem with the Cathedral Choir of St. Andrews and in the final quartet of Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms with members of the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra, David Lockington, Conductor. 

An avid supporter of new music, Ms. Clark enjoys collaborating with composers on new music.  At the Boston Conservatory she debuted a set of songs written for her by Nicole DeMaio.  She also had the great privilege of working with Chicago based composer, Sean Ellis Hussey on his opera For the sake of a narrative closure…, as well as his cantata …safe, stable, loving, and permanent home where she sang the soprano solo.  

Ms. Clark holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Boston Conservatory (now the Boston Conservatory at Berklee) as well as an Associates in Music from Grand Rapids Community College.  She currently studies with Allan Glassman.
